Junior DevOps Engineers at DCKAP help build and maintain the infrastructure and deployment processes that keep our applications running reliably. They work closely with development and engineering teams to automate tasks, support CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud environments, and troubleshoot operational issues. With a focus on learning, automation, and continuous improvement, they play an important role in keeping our systems secure, scalable, and efficient.
The Role
In this role, you will:
- Support the setup, configuration, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Assist in building, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines for application deployment and testing.
- Automate routine infrastructure and operational tasks using scripting and DevOps tools.
- Work with development teams to support smooth and reliable application deployments.
- Monitor applications, infrastructure, and deployments, and help troubleshoot issues.
- Assist with containerized applications using Docker and support container orchestration environments.
- Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Follow security, access control, backup, and infrastructure best practices.
- Maintain clear documentation for infrastructure, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
- Learn and adopt new tools and technologies to improve automation, reliability, and operational efficiency.
The Requirements
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud, System Administration, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments and basic infrastructure management.
- Experience working with Linux systems, scripting, and basic troubleshooting.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and software deployment processes.
Expertise
- Hands-on experience with EC2, S3, CloudFront, ALB/NLB, WAF, RDS, IAM, VPC, Route 53, and CloudWatch.
- Good working knowledge of Linux.
- Experience with common Linux commands and system administration.
- Create and maintain infrastructure using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
Tools + Skills
- AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Docker and Containerization
- Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Jenkins, GitLab, or Travis CI.
Good to have:
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Azure DevOps Engineer.
- Familiarity with SonarQube for code quality and security analysis.
- Experience with SOC2, GDPR, PCI DSS compliance or similar regulatory frameworks.
